The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released two official notifications for the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2025 and the Indian Forest Service (IFoS) Examination 2025. Published on 22nd January 2025, these notifications pertain to the preliminary examination, which will be conducted for candidates submitting their online applications through the official UPSC web portal. These examinations are among the most prestigious competitive exams in India, attracting participation from lakhs of aspirants nationwide. According to the notification, the online application process for the UPSC CSE and IFoS Examination commenced on 22nd January 2025.

Educational Qualification: Candidates must possess a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized university or institute to be eligible for the UPSC CSE. For candidates applying for the Indian Forest Service (IFoS), eligibility requires at least one of the following subjects: Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, or Zoology, or a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Forestry, or Engineering.

Age Limit: A candidate must be at least 21 years old and not more than 32 years old as of 1st August 2025. This means the candidate must have been born no earlier than 2nd August 1993 and no later than 1st August 2004.

Age Relaxation: The upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST candidates and 3 years for OBC candidates.

Application Fee: Candidates are required to pay an application fee of ₹100 (Rupees One Hundred only), except for Female, SC/ST, and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) candidates who are exempted from the fee. The payment can be made by depositing cash at any State Bank of India (SBI) branch, using Net Banking from any bank, or through Visa/Master/RuPay Credit/Debit Cards or UPI Payment.

 

 

 

How to Apply for UPSC Recruitment?

 

Eligible candidates for the UPSC Recruitment can submit their online applications through the official web portal of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). Applications submitted through any other mode will not be considered valid. Follow the steps below to complete the application process:

The official UPSC portal will open in a new tab.
On the portal, select the option to register yourself. This process, known as One Time Registration (OTR), requires you to provide your details and upload necessary documents.
After completing OTR, log in using the Already Registered option.
Fill out the application form and verify all details.
Pay the application fee using one of the available payment methods.
After successful payment, your application will be submitted.
You will receive an acknowledgement copy of your submission. Make sure to download and save this copy for future reference.
