The Directorate of Elementary Education (DEE), Assam, has announced the recruitment of 4,500 teachers for Lower Primary (LP) and Upper Primary (UP) schools in Assam. This includes 2,900 positions for Assistant Teachers in LP schools and 1,600 positions for Assistant Teachers, Science Teachers, and Hindi Teachers in UP schools.

Starting date of submission of online application: 8th March 2025
Last date of submission of online application: 8th April, 2025

Eligibility Criteria:

Age Limit: Candidates must be between 18 and 40 years old as of January 1, 2025. Age relaxations apply for reserved categories.
Age Relaxation: The Category-wise age relaxation for different categories are as mentioned below:
# Ex-Servicemen: 2 years
# OBC/ MOBC: 3 years
# SC/ST(P)/ST(H): 5 years
# Persons with Disability (PwD): 10 years

Small Family Norms: No person having more than two living children on or after 01/01/2021 from a single or multiple partners shall be eligible for appointment as per the Govt. policy on Small Family Norms .

Medium of Instruction: Either the Language-I or the Language-II of both ATET and CTET candidates shall match the medium of instruction of the school, wherein the candidate wishes to apply.

ATET/ CTET Qualification: The candidates who have passed ATET/ CTET for Lower Primary / Upper Primary will be eligible for applying.

Educational Qualifications:

Lower Primary (LP) Teachers:
- Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks.
- 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
- Qualified in Assam TET or Central TET for Lower Primary.
Upper Primary (UP) Teachers:
- Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary (or equivalent).
- Graduate from a UGC-recognized university.
- 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education or Bachelor of Education.
- Qualified in Assam TET or Central TET for Upper Primary.

Nationality: Candidates must be a Permanent Resident of Assam .

Educational Qualification: Post-wise educational qualifications for each posts are as mentioned below .

Assistant Teacher (LP)

Qualification:

# Higher Secondary/ Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks.
# 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).
# Assam TET or Central TET for Lower Primary School.

Assistant Teacher (UP)

Qualification:

# Higher Secondary/ Senior Secondary (or its equivalent).
# Graduate from the UGC-recognized University.
# 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) OR Bachelor of Education or Bachelor of Elementary Education.
# Assam TET or Central TET for Upper Primary School.

Science Teacher (UP)

Qualification:

# Higher Secondary/ Senior Secondary (or its equivalent).
# B.Sc. from the UGC recognized University.
# 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) OR Bachelor of Education or Bachelor of Elementary Education.
# Assam TET or Central TET for Upper Primary School.

Hindi Teacher (UP)

Qualification:

# Higher Secondary/ Senior Secondary (or its equivalent).
# Graduate with Hindi as one of the subjects from the UGC-recognized University.
# 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) OR Bachelor of Education or Bachelor of Elementary Education.
# Assam TET or Central TET for Upper Primary School.
